& Tiles
For most fabric projects, and particularly if you want to have
a length of fabric, you will need to use a pattern that repeats
in a predictable way.
What you
will submit is the element that repeats: the tile.
We will need that at the actual size you wish
it to print.
Creating
this pattern is fairly straight-forward, once you get the knack,
and it certainly helps to have some up-to-date image management
software. But if you are not sure how to proceed, we can help
(for a fee)..
But
here below, for example, is a quick guide of what type of image
you are likely to need to make the items we currently offer.

Suitable image files will vary a great deal, depending upon
the final size of the pattern you want to use. However, as a
rule, you would prefer to use images that do not degrade when
viewed at a resolution of at least 200 dots per inch. As a guide,
take your image and enlarge it by 300%. If the colours break
up significantly when viewed at real size, you are likely to
need a better source file.kely to need a better source file.

LEARN
MORE: Building a repeat pattern, below, can start with a simple
shape
For
Example: ABOVE (repeating pattern tile)
Steps 1 to 4 show how you can start with a simple graphical
image and develop it into a tile that can be repeated. Above
the circular graphic can be set side by side as in Sample 4
or in a grid as in Sample 5.
For Example: BELOW (repeating kit tiles)
If you are making kits then you will want to print your image
side by side as in the example below. To get that kit to repeat
just make sure your tile has enough space around the image to
allow you to cut between the kits when they are finished. NB:
If you are making kits, don't forget the back of the product!
